Engku Putri Square is a public space located in the center of Batam’s government area, specifically in Batam Center. 5. Raja Ali Haji Museum

Raja Ali Haji Museum, the first museum in Batam City, is located within Engku Putri Square. The museum showcases the historical development of Batam from the Riau-Lingga Sultanate period to the modern era. Besides historical collections, the museum also highlights BJ Habibie’s role in Batam’s development. The museum is open daily from 09.00 AM to 05.00 PM and is free to the public.

6. Kebun Raya Batam

Kebun Raya Batam, located on Jalan Hang Lekiu, Nongsa, is a nature tourism destination with over 2,500 plant collections. The garden offers various facilities including viewing towers and skyways to enjoy the scenery from above, as well as artificial lakes and gazebos. Kebun Raya Batam is open every day from 08.00 AM to 05.00 PM and has no entrance fee.

7. Tanjung Piayu Area

Tanjung Piayu is famous for its seafood restaurants, offering various seafood dishes at affordable prices. Some popular restaurants here include Love Seafood Tanjung Piayu Laut, RM Jawa Melayu 1, and RM Jawa Melayu 2. This area is open from 09.00 AM to 09.00 PM, making it a great place to enjoy seafood with family or friends.

8. Belakang Padang Island

Belakang Padang Island, located about 30 km from Singapore, can be accessed from Sekupang People’s Harbor by boat. This island offers unique Malay cuisine like Teh Tarik Ameng and views of traditional stilt houses. The journey to the island takes about 15 minutes and the boat fare is around Rp 15,000 one way.
